It has made my year the hated Dallas Cowboys have not made the playoffs in the National Football League and I am very happy. Both of the teams I follow made the playoffs and no Cowboys so it has been a very special year for me and my football life. I love football I can sit and watch and enjoy a game no matter who is playing and I love to root against the hated Dallas Cowboys. It made my year when they failed to make the playoffs, how many ways can I say that I am very happy.

UPDATE The Cowboys have cut Adam Pacman Jones after he missed 6 games for a suspension and played very poorly.

As Christmas Day gets closer and closer I am very worried that we will not have enough money to have as good a holiday as we are used to. We are used to eating a huge dinner and having nice gifts and this year it is going to be a little leaner than we are used to. The high price of gasoline and higher expenses this fall have made us close to bankrupt. I do not want to get any closer let us hope that 2009 gets off to a good start for us and we get back on the right track.

As I keep getting older every day I have come to realize that I hate the cold weather and I do not see a way that I will at this late stage of life come to like it very much. I moved here about ten years ago when it got to hot for me in Arizona, I do not care if it is a dry heat 110 is still to dam hot for this old man. Now the cold is starting to bother my joints and I may have to start looking for a warmer place to pitch my tent. A beach somewhere sounds pretty nice to me right now, it is 30 degrees with a cold mist falling. It is plain depressing to look outside today and if I set foot out side of my house it will not be at my own request. How long is it until spring?

This has been a very bad year for almost everyone in the United States. I can not wait for this year to be over and to get a good start on 2009. Between high prices on gasoline and most other products, people losing their homes and utility bills going out of sight. We have lost a lot of fine people this year and they will be missed, the one that rings to my heart is my Grandmother who passed away in August. Let us hope that next year is a better year for all of us and we get back on track for prosperity.

The arrival of December makes it another month when I ran out of money before the month was over. I hope this downturn in the economy does not last much longer, I have went through almost all of the money we had saved, our 401K is about gone and I need a new truck for work. It does not sound very healthy around here these days does it? I know the price of gasoline going down will help some but the big ticket items I need to buy including a new truck for work will just have to wait for better times and more money I guess.
