Amazemerize

On my way to work this morning I was in for a wild ride and I just had no idea how wild it was going to be. In the driving rain I jumped on the interstate to make my way on my 22 mile commute, and after going a couple of miles I noticed flashing lights in my mirror and pulled over, to see a car being chased by the police fly by the must of been going over 100 MPH. I started on and thought nothing more about this until I noticed the flashing lights coming back at me going the wrong way on the highway. You wanna talk about a deer in the headlights,I was that and I held on and muttered an atheists prayer and hoped they missed me. The flew by and when I got to work everyone was talking about the fatality wreck on the interstate with a car being chased by cops going the wrong way on the interstate and my life flashed in front of my eyes for sure. It was a bad day for that dude and the cops chasing him too, I am glad they missed me and pray for the folks they did hit a couple of miles down the road.

The arrival of December makes it another month when I ran out of money before the month was over. I hope this downturn in the economy does not last much longer, I have went through almost all of the money we had saved, our 401K is about gone and I need a new truck for work. It does not sound very healthy around here these days does it? I know the price of gasoline going down will help some but the big ticket items I need to buy including a new truck for work will just have to wait for better times and more money I guess.

The gasoline shortage seems to be over no more gasoline lines and not very many stations are out of gasoline, the ones that are out of gasoline are only out of high test it seems. The price of the gasoline is also dropping back to a much more manageable level. It will be a few more days and all of the stations will be back to pre Ike levels. IT is hard to believe that one little hurricane could cause so much damage in a state so far from the Gulf of Mexico.

My oldest daughter Kim who is a student at USC, has had a small fender bender this morning and she called her dad to get some help to figure out what to do. I did some quick research on the internet and found her a yorba linda auto body shop near her home to use to get an estimate. The worst of the shortage of gasoline for the year 2008 seems to be over for now, although it could start again at any time. This shortage goes to show that at any time our supply of gasoline could be cut off by nature or by an act of terrorism. The lines to get gasoline were long and tempers flared several times in the last two weeks. When a station had gasoline the lines were up to two hours long and gas rage seemed to be way more abundant than the supply of the product itself. Let us hope we do not have another episode like this one. We made it ok by filling up as soon as it looked like there was going to be a shortage and topping off when ever we found a station with gasoline, several of our drivers ran out of gasoline and had to be rescued, lets hope this is it for this shortage, this time!
